That’s what happened this week when I had my first session with a wonderful new florist client! She’s asked me for some monthly mentoring sessions to get her back on track and help her promote various gorgeous services. What did I do the morning of our first session this week? I cut some dahlias in my garden and arranged them in a new style! That’s one reason I love working with creatives - while I’m sure she’d do a MUCH better job, going to meet her somehow inspired me to up my own flower-arranging game! Today marks 150 days since the publication of Moth Today marks 150 days since the publication of Motherdom. Launch day was full of emotion and excitement. After years of research, reflection and writing, seeing people queue up for a signed copy of the book was quite something. Thank you to Foyles Bookshop for hosting and Cathy Rentzenbrink for interviewing. It’s Tilly’s birthday! While all her siblings It’s Tilly’s birthday! While all her siblings share their birthday with Prince George, out of her litter (she had 5 brothers) her birth was timed closest to the Prince’s so her breeder named her Georgia 👸! Whatever the nature of your business I think it’s important now and again to have fun with your content. So how did I create this Reel? 1) I took a screenshot of the BBC News website. 2) I used a website (myfonts.com) to find a font close to the BBC’s. This is Bitter on Canva - not identical but good enough. “UK” is Gill Sans and “2h ago” is Helvetica Thai. 3) I uploaded a photo of Tilly to Canva and put it in a photo holding element a similar shape to Prince George’s. 4) I typed out the wording to mirror Prince George’s photo announcement, in my chosen fonts (see 2 above). 5) I now had my “Tilly news item” and downloaded it as a jpg (and then uploaded it back into Canva). 6) I chose an Instagram reels template in Canva and inserted my screenshot of the BBC News website. 7) I dropped a white rectangle element on top of the top news story to cover it. 8) I inserted my “Tilly news item” creation on top - and then downloaded the new BBC News website screenshot as a jpg. 9) I popped it into an App called InShot to create the spin effect video. 10) I brought it into Instagram reels, and added music and text.
